NRA ARC
National Rifle Association
America's Rifle Challenge
ARC is the series uniquely designed for the AR rifle. There are 2 levels to simulate real-world scenarios and to allow both basic and advanced training and competition. ARC is as much about training as competing.
ARC Level 1 is fired on indoor or outdoor ranges from 10 to 100 yards and may be held on 25-yard ranges with reduced-size targets. ARC Level 2 is usually fired on outdoor ranges at distances up to 400 yards and is a dynamic event with a variety of targets.
USPSA
United states Practical Shooting Association
USPSA is dedicated to promoting safe, fair, and fun participation in practical shooting sports. Members engage in dynamic and challenging courses of fire, where speed, accuracy, and power are equally tested. USPSA is a pistol focused competition, ideal to hone your self defense skills.
IDPA
International Defensive Pistol Association
As the name suggests, IDPA competition tests the skills and accuracy of shooters in a variety of self-defense and tactical shooting scenarios. The goal of defensive pistol shooting is to replicate the types of shooting scenarios that shooters might encounter in real-life self-defense situations, and to provide a challenging and realistic test of a shooter's abilities.
IMGA/USPSA 3 Gun
International Multi-Gun Association
United States Practical Shooting Association
Competitors use three different firearms — a rifle built on an AR-platform; a pistol; and a shotgun. Matches generally involve courses where the shooter must move through different stages and engage targets in a variety of different positions, while requiring shooters to transition between different firearms.
There are 5 Divisions: Limited, Tactical, He-Man, Open & Outlaw Open.
SASS
Single Action Shooting Society
Cowboy Action Shooting
Cowboy Action Shooting™ is a multi-faceted shooting sport in which contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West: single action revolvers, pistol caliber lever action rifles, and old time shotguns. It is a timed sport in which the shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, “Old West” style on a course of different shooting stages and scenarios.
